How do you like this storyline for a RP I made?

Soard said it seemed generic and I just wanted to hear some thoughts and turn it into a RP if deemed worthy.

"Hello fellow world leaders," clapping is heard in the background and quietly subsides. "As you may know, we've been having a pollution problem." There was silence. "It has rapidly increased and we no longer have ice at the poles. Several arctic species have gone extinct. Several committees of scientists say we have only a few months time to figure something out. Or we will all go extinct." Gasps and faint mutters are heard. "But thankfully, we have something figured out, well, the Atlantis Organization does at least. They have actually been working on something we need. They've almost finished and underwater facility able to take oxygen in the water and give it to us." He licked his lips and took in a breath.
"They've allowed us to move in."
Shortly after this meeting, someone started a rumor saying they were going to be slaves to expand down there. Countries went into chaos. People trying to overthrow leaders. People died both by bullets and the air. They had sped up the doom of humanity.
Every country started getting people ready to leave, until some country launched all of its explosives *cough* at everyone else. All small countries took a heavy toll. Monuments fell, never to be built again. The United States launched the deployment boats to the dropoff point. A few made it, each holding only about 5,000 each. When the boats arrived again, the cities were desolate, the air there smoggy and almost toxic. Before the captains could realise they were doomed, they all died. The Atlantis organization had only saved around 16,000 people. They were the last survivors of the human race.
Surrounded by thousands upon thousands of gallons of water, the Aguadomeis, home to 16,000 people, was the only source of fresh air. It had planted jungles, fields of corn, it was massive. Each dome was the size of a neighborhood. The main room the size of a football field. It was home away from home. People lived happily together, there was actually peace and fairness. The lights installed were similar to sunlight. Once everyone got into the Aguadomeis, they shut the entry hatch, bolted it shut and blew up the entry tube. Generations went by, people growing a hint taller on the average scale. Now the kids of the future, young adults, teenagers, whatever you call them, they don't know of the past, they are the new beginning. They go to the Academy of Atlantis, learning skills needed to survive and thrive in this underwater utopia.
